Women's Day
I always thought that Women's Day is something that is only celebrated in Eastern European countries, but it seems that it's an international day. The first memory I can recall of Women's Day is from my time in primary school. On 8th March (if it was a week day), boys would always give girls a flower, either a tulip or a rose. In return girls would always bring a small gift for boys on Boys' Day, which is 30th September. Compared to Women's Day, Boys' Day is not as widely celebrated in other countries.
As we now have a little gentleman in our family, I decided to make a card for my Mum from our son. I think she will be happy to get this little reminder of how much she is appreciated.
This card is painted so there is not much you need to to make it:
1. A 13.5 cm (folded size) white card and matching envelope from the Docrafts Anita's Square Card and Envelope set.
2. Some white paper.
3. Some pink, blue, and green non-toxic, water-washable paint.
4. A thin paint brush.
5. Some paper glue.
6. A pair of scissors.
7. A black marker.
To make the card you need to take a footprint from each of your baby's feet, using white paper and pink paint. Let them dry, then cut around each footprint carefully: it will be easier to arrange the final card if the pieces of paper with the footprints on have little white space. Next, draw a heart in the middle of the card, large enough to fit the two footprints, and some flowers on one side of the heart. Cut out the heart, and then colour the flowers and the edges of the heart. Arrange the footprints into a heart shape and glue them onto the card in the space marked by the cut out heart. That's it!

Have fun creating!
