Felt Baby Name Banner for Nursery
I knew that I wanted our Little One's nursery to be brightly decorated, with white as the base wall and furniture colour, as there will be lots of colorful accents. This with one big window would make the nursery bright and airy.
However...
The only bit of decor that at this point is according to my plan is the name banner... and maybe soon some white walls, as we decided on some natural wooden oak furniture...
The name banner that I made is made from woolen felt, a relatively inexpensive material. However, when you add to it the cost of all the other bits like threads, toy stuffing or beads, and most importantly your involvement and time, I can understand why felt baby name banners are so expensive to buy.

Each week, for the next few weeks, I will post the template and some tips "how to make it" for one of the animals for this banner, starting with:
- Hippo
- Zebra
- Lion
- Monkey
- Elephant
- Tiger
- Giraffe
There are many sites on the Internet, and particularly on Etsy or Pinterest, where you can find different designs, some of which are very similar to each other. The ones that I'm going to post are also very popular, but as always I put my own twist on them.
The general way of putting the banner together is as follows:
Step 1 Choose your felt and threads.
Step 2 Print out the design in the size you want.
Step 3 Cut out the shapes.
Step 4 Sew around the edges, leaving a small opening to pack in some toy stuffing.
Step 5 Stuff the shape and then sew closed.
Step 6 Assemble everything together and be proud what you made:)
Today I'm attaching the template for the lettering of the name Oliver. The font I used for this banner is Cooper Black, size 450pt. You can download the template here.
