Ladybird Card

Ladybird Card / Biedroneczki są w... Serduszka
This is the first year in which I'm making some cards for my parents, as they became Grandma and Grandpa to our son. If you read my previous post, where I presented a card for my Dad for Grandpa's Day, you will know by now that our son is their second grandchild: they have also a lovely little granddaughter (my niece). In Poland we celebrate Grandparents in the same way as on Mother's day and Father's day - Grandmother's Day is on 21st of January, and Grandfather's Day is the day after on 22nd of January.
The card for my Mum has a ladybird on it. Some ladybirds have dots, but mine has hearts.

There's not much you need to make this card:

1. Folded white card which has a slightly metallic effect, with dimensions 13.5 x 13.5 cm (after folding) from the Pollen series by Clairefontaine.

2. Some red, black, and white craft paper.

3. A black marker.

4. Some paper glue.

5. A pair of scissors.

6. A few black double-sided sticky pads with dimensions 5 mm x 5 mm and 2 mm thickness.

7. A heart-shaped craft punch.

To make the card you need to cut out a small circle from the black paper for the head, a larger circle for body, six hearts using the craft punch, six legs and two antennae. From the red paper, cut out a circle that is bigger than the circle that represents the body, and also three hearts. Cut the red circle in half to form the wings. Cut two small circles out from the white paper to make the eyes. Draw black dots on the white circles to represent the pupils. Glue everything together to form a ladybird similar to the one shown on the card. Next, use black sticky pads to fix the ladybird and the red hearts onto the paper, and you are done!

Have fun creating!
